
What we’re about
This is a group for anyone interested in mindfulness meditation, including those wishing to develop a meditation practice, deepen an existing meditation practice, and/or interested in bringing mindfulness into daily life.
Hugh Byrne and guest teachers lead weekly classes, periodic workshops and retreats, and special programs. Key focuses of the group are to cultivate mindfulness and other practices of the heart and mind--including loving-kindness, compassion, equanimity, wise speech, and wise action--so that we can live more wisely and kindly in the world.
Classes typically include guided meditations, short talk, sharing and opportunities to speak with Hugh about resources and strengthening one's practice. Many of the programs take place at the IMCW Center for Mindful Living in Tenleytown, DC--a vibrant community that is committed to equity, diversity and inclusivity and seeks to be welcoming to all.
