Inaugural DC/OS Meetup - The SMACK Stack!

Welcome all to the Inaugral DC/OS Meetup...

For our very first meetup we'll have lucky to have two great people from Mesosphere in San Francisco in attendance:

Stathy Touloumis (Technology Director) & Kevin Stoll (Technical Leadership Team)

To kick things off, we'll have a 101 introduction to DC/OS (Data Centre Operating System) and then move into a presentation discussing how the SMACK (http://bigdata-madesimple.com/smackspark-mesos-akka-kafka/) stack can be deployed on DC/OS...

Title: The SMACK Stack is the New LAMP Stack

The SMACK stack owes its growing momentum to several things. First, most modern enterprise application use cases like IoT, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and real-time personalisation require data processing at scale. Spark, Kafka, Cassandra are some of the most popular cloud-native data services that have been proven to do just that.

As we're still bootstrapping the DC/OS meetup, and trying to identify some great venues, potential sponsors, catering partners, etc....all of which will be very useful for getting DC/OS off to a flying start!
