While there may be some benefit in following agile practices – “doing agile” – you are not getting what agile is meant to deliver until you embody agile’s values and principles and see through a Growth Mindset lens. “Being agile” requires a mindset change which you can’t achieve by following published agile processes. Further, an agile mindset is an attitude that equates failure and problems with opportunities for learning, a belief that we can improve continuously; that our abilities are not fixed but evolve with effort.

In this session, we will discuss concepts of an agile mindset. We will explore standard agile practices with an eye on outcomes to determine the values and principles they are intended to achieve. We will look at mindset factors and determine where we stand in the Fixed vs Growth Mindset spectrum and discuss what we can do to transform ourselves and our teams to adopt an agile mindset.
