A Bumpy Road to Continuous Delivery: Overcoming Technical and Organizational Challenges

We can agree that Continuous Delivery provides a great blueprint for a more reliable and rapid release process, however implementing a deployment pipeline capable of continuous releases does not happen overnight. There are often challenges to overcome from a technical and/or organization level. This talk aims to share first-hand enterprise experiences/challenges encountered while moving towards Continuous Delivery capabilities across legacy, brownfield, and greenfield applications. We will also discuss the tools and processes that proved valuable to moving this initiative forward.

A very good summary of the frustrations inherent in pushing a risk averse enterprise to continuous delivery; as well as some excellent suggestions on how to do so despite the challenges.

Danny did an awesome job presenting a difficult topic in a non-technical way which is a great change from some of our previous presentations. Working on the organization and process piece of CD is often lost in some of our presentations so this was excellent content.

Great talk from Danny that highlighted the "softer" side of technology -- and where the real struggles are with implementing it. Often, the people, culture, and organizational dynamics are much harder to deal with than the actual technology itself.
