F# MVC for WPF

What: F# is known as a great language to express complex algorithms, crunch numbers and process all kinds of data. Have you ever wondered if it can be effectively used for such down-to-earth task as WPF GUI development?

“F# MVC for WPF” is a small yet powerful framework designed for building WPF applications in F#. With strong support for MVC, functional, asynchronous and event-driven programming it enables you to build your solution quickly without sacrificing type system or testability.

Project's wiki:

Who: Dmitry is a senior consultant with Eikos Partners. He has been using F# successfully for the past 4 years in his everyday work to develop different kinds of enterprise software.

Pizza and Raffled off prizes for the attendees:
• Resharper license

• Programming book
• Pluralsight monthly subscriptions

Where: B-Line Medical is located 2 blocks south of the Dupont Circle metro stop (red line). Exit on dupont south and the building is at the corner of 19th and N street NW. Driving is not encouraged as parking will be extremely difficult. The building needs a key card to get in after 6pm but Riccardo and Khiem will be hanging around outside to let people in. B-Line medical is on the first floor of the building right around the corner at the end of the hallway.

Can't make it? We'll be recording our meetup and posting it to our youtube

I thought the Monadic Binding to SQL Server was nice. I thought the Reactive Programming used to create a Model, View, and Controller was nice. I thought the Pipeling was nice. It was not made clear why one would use a WPF application rather than just a Windows Console application, because it seems F# does not use MVVM and a Console application can also create windows-based GUIs for people to use with much less boilerplate. I also did not get a real answer as to why the MVC code that he made in F# would not work with Websharper nor Knockout-MVC, especially since Websharper and Knockout-MVC both work with C# MVC.
