Introduction to winter backpacking trip in the gorgeous Dolly Sods

This is not a car and/or cabin camping trip, we will be on the move from star to end. For most one of the most desirable areas to hike/backpack.

The wilderness the better, we will star our adventure on one of the most beautiful areas on Dolly Sods in special in winter time.

This is a "cold winter weather" back-country backpacking trip so PLEASE wear/bring subzero clothes/gear according to the season, special recommendation is wear insulated gloves/boots.
Essential gear need it:
1.) Base layer like long johns or similar
2.) Water proof shoes/boots or water proof socks
3.) Gaiters (if snow is present on ground)
4.) Micro-spikes for better traction on ice-snow
5.) 2 pieces rain suit (we never know)
6.) Your regular winter clothes including
wool hat-gloves + extra layers + towel.
8.) Tent - Sleeping pad - Sleeping bag.
9.) Backpacker stove - dish-spoon
10.) Dry food - Snacks - Energy bars
11.) 2 big mouth water container.

Trip distance: 12 mile total - Easy/moderate.
Trail description:
We will expend our first night at the trail head of Red Creek, Saturday morning we will moving north about 1 1/5 mile and cross Red Creek and set camp on a flat plateau where we will expend our second night, after setting camp we will go for a day hike up to a rock formation know as Lion's Head which is one of the most beautiful views in the area. (9-10 miles round trip) and them come back to camp site and enjoy at good dinner, next day Sunday in the morning break camp and take breakfast after that retrace our way back to parking lot (1.5 mile) and drive back to civilization, we will stop at http://griffintavern.com/to get some good meal before we continue or travel home, arriving to Vienna metro around 3-4 pm.

I will bring an especial gear that will allow as to cross the creek whit out getting wet at all.
