What we're about

DC Dads Group is a diverse community of fathers who take an active role in our children’s lives. We host meet-ups several times per month, with our kids at parks, playgrounds, museums, sporting events, parent-and-me classes, and anywhere else we feel compelled within the Washington, DC metro area. We also host Dads Nights Out to give our members an opportunity to socialize, have fun, learn, and support each other as we navigate parenthood.

We are dads of all stripes: married dads, single dads, dads who share custody, adoptive dads, step-dads, stay at home dads, full time working dads, work from home dads, freelance dads, etc. Our meet-ups occur both during the week and on weekends to accommodate both stay at home dads and working dads. We welcome all involved fathers in and around the DC area who want to socialize and interact with other guys who enjoy spending quality time with their children. The only requirement to joining us is to be a dad. There are no group dues and no attendance expectations. We have some dads who come consistently to most of what we do, and we have some dads who might only come out once or twice per year. We’re here for all dads whenever they are ready to participate.

DC Dads Group is part of the City Dads Group, a dynamic and diverse community of fathers dedicated to being active in their children’s lives and, by example, redefining what it means to be a dad in the 21st century. City Dads Group has active groups in many major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Find them all here at http://citydadsgroup.com/

Alexandria Dad's - Monthly Field Trip (Dad's Only)

TopGolf Alexandria

Remember when you were a kid and you looked forward to going on field trips? Well, I don't know about you but I still enjoy an occasional field trip with friends. Every month, DC Dads explore a new venue together to foster an environment that creates and builds relationships with local dads. These outings are called, "Field Trips". Our Field Trips takes place on the 4th Tuesday of every month. Here's a look at past field trips: - Bowling - Shooting Pool - Ping Pong Bar - Axe Throwing - Gun Range - Top Golf - Poker Night - Board Game Night How do we choose Field Trips? Members of the group vote on the next Field Trip at our Coffee Talk sessions held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Panera Bread in Kingstowne. Our goal is to pick venues and activities that are conveniently located and easy to travel to from the Kingstowne area. Feel free to send any suggestions you may have for future Field Trips to [masked]. What time do Field Trips begin and end? Field Trips start at 6:30 pm. If the venue is in DC or further away from the Kingstowne area, the event will start at 7 pm. Expect all Field Trips to last two hours from the starting time. Carpooling is available for events that take place outside of the Kingstowne area. Please post in the comment section of the event you're planning on attending if you need a ride or would like to carpool. We look forward to seeing at the next Field Trip

Alexandria, VA - Dads Getting Coffee - [DADS ONLY]

Panera Bread

Welcome, Alexandrai Dads to Dads Getting Coffee! Dads Getting Coffee is a relaxing get together where Dads grab a cup of coffee and chat. Too often events are tied to doing something which distracts you from simply talking about what's going on in your life. The DC Dads Group's mission is to bring local Dads together. What better way to do it than over a cup of joe. Usually 5 - 7 dads attend this monthly recurring event. To pass the time, some guys bring playing cards or their favorite board game. This is a great event for a new dad to meet the group and start the bonding process. I'll see everyone at 6 pm. You can find me sitting at the large table next to the tea service and food expo area.
