DCVR in VA Showcase

Details
Summer is over, and it is time to explore Virtual Reality with the DCVR in VA. This month we will have two local developers showcasing their creations: Bruce Wyman of 3D Me & Reed Seal-Foss of Infinite Monkey.
Join us at the latest DCVR NoVA chapter meeting on Tuesday, Sept 17th at 7:00 at Nova Labs in Reston, VA. Bruce Wyman will demonstrate 3D scanning, suitable for VR. Reed Seal-Foss of Infinite Monkey will show off his new Block (Lego) simulator, and talk about how he is distributing it using SideQuest.
3D Me provides 3D photography (3D Scanning) services predominantly for schools as a fundraiser and an educational service for the teachers and students. 3D Me also offers workshops in all things 3D (scanning, printing, and CAD design). Bruce Wyman, CSO (Chief 3D Scanning Officer) has been a school teacher for the last 15 years in the Washington DC metro area. He also worked as an independent contractor for a local 3D printer reseller. He is a native Washingtonian, married, and the proud parent of 2 terrific kids.
Blocks simulator allows you to play and build with simulated plastic blocks. You can explore in, on, and around what you build. When you're done, you can save your work and export a .obj of what you've made to 3D print. Blocks simulator was built in 6 weeks with Unreal Engine 4 and is written in both Unreal Blueprints and C++. Reed Seal-Foss is a VR developer living in Northern Virginia. He founded a 3D design studio in 2008, Sand Castle Studios. In 2012, Reed and his studio were nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy Award for design work done for the documentary Deep Down: A Story from the Heart of Coal Country. After leaving Sand Castle in 2012 and a few years doing freelance 3D art and design, Reed decided to go back to school for Computer Science in 2016. In his studies, he's focused on VR app design and is set to graduate in Spring 2020.
