What we're about

In searching for 40s and 50s singles group specific to DC, meaning based in the city with events in the city, I was coming up empty. Now, you don't have to! We are Boomers and X-ers who live in, or close to, DC and all of our events are IN the city; just the D, not the MV! :-)

There is so much to do and see and enjoy in our lovely city, let's do it together and have a blast! Whether it's happy hour in Shaw, lite fare at Union Market, distillery visits in Ivy City, fine dining on Barracks Row, drinks atop Whiskey Charlie at The Wharf, one of the many Eat the District and Drink the District events, or a small dinner party on Capitol Hill, Washington is where it's at! Ooh, too corny? Well, I'm 55, so gimme a break. :-D

Looking forward to meeting up with all you local 40s & 50s singles and having some great times in DC!!!

Brunch at Bidwell's

Bidwell Restaurant

Let's "do" brunch! The Brunch Menu https://bidwelldc.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Brunch-Summer.pdf We are a large party - the restaurant would only let me reserve at 10:00 AM without a contract. We have the table from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM.

Middle Aged People Clubbing!!

Decades DC

OK, so, can 40s and 50s singles go clubbing? When it's at Decades, apparently, the answer is yes! I'm told we would not stand out too much on the 80s floor, maybe even on the 90s floor. The rest is all 20 somethings, I think. We have talked about doing this at a couple of our happy hours, so let's do it. The club doesn't open until 9:00, so if we show up then, it'll probably be empty. I'm wondering if I should schedule an earlier meetup at another bar nearby so we can get out and get together earlier than that. I'm not gonna to lie, the idea of not leaving home until 8:30 isn't all that appealing! :-D Also, there is a $20 cover on Saturday, so I am happy to shift this to Friday, Feb 22 if the group prefers. Leave some comments here to let me know what you think.

Cheap Oysters and Brews at Across the Pond!

Across the Pond

So, the owner of Across the Pond Irish Pub in DuPont reached out to me a long while back and told me about their Friday Happy Hour, asking if we would like to come and enjoy ourselves there one evening. That evening is Friday, March 4, when Oysters are $1.00 each (min. order 6) and Guinness is $6.00 a pint. What could be better? Us eating oysters and drinking stout, that's what! There are also many other drinks deeply discounted for HH if you're not a stout fan.
