What we're about

DFW Explorers is an active group for anyone between the ages of 21 – 40 who embrace new cultures, ideas, and adventures. We're not afraid to step of our comfort zone, but we also love kicking back with a good beer and some good food.

Our events focus on building a community, meeting new friends and challenging ourselves to just do something in the huge metroplex that is DFW.

(When submitting an application please use your real first name and a clear picture of yourself. This makes it easier to recognize one another at events.)

Explore: Legacy Food Hall and Unlawful Brewery

Legacy Food Hall

• What we'll do Join us for food, beer and fun on Saturday, March 23rd One of DFW's newest exciting additions is Legacy Food Hall in Plano, a food hall with 22 food stalls, half a dozen bars and its own brewery, all conveniently located in one large establishment. This was a lot of fun last time we did it, and with the warmer weather and more food establishments it'll be even better. The plan is to meet up for lunch at noon, picking from one of the many eateries. We all don't have to eat at the same place, and it'll be easier to break into smaller groups. Once people finish eating we can move to the third level to Unlawful Brewery and some beers. There's no set end time for the event, so feel free to drop in after the start time. You can check out the different food options here: http://legacyfoodhall.com/ • Important to know Please keep in mind our attendance policy, and try to keep your RSVP updated at all times.

The end is near and you're all almost literally to the finish line. This week we'll be doing the following: Brisk five minute warmup walk, then do 25 minutes of jogging with no walking. Buddhist Center of Dallas (aka Wat Buddha Dallas)

Come join us for some culture, tasty Thai food and fun on: Sunday, March 24th One of Dallas' hidden gems, The Buddhist Center of Dallas puts on a weekly Sunday brunch that is recognized by many as the mostly authentic Thai eating in the city. Late March temperatures should finally be bearable enough for us to hang out here. Every Sunday the back lot of the temple becomes bustling with activity as stands selling authentic street style Thai eats set up and people from all over come to indulge in culture and great food. Important: Almost all the stands are cash only, so bring cash! The temple itself has a small parking lot, so parking is relegated to side streets. Be prepared.

iFLY Dallas Indoor Skydiving

(Due to the popularity and limited spots of this event I am asking if you attended the previous IFLY event to not sign up, in order to allow other people to experience this event ) Join us for some air time, fun and friends on Sunday, March 24th I recently got introduced to IFly and Indoor Skydiving via a friend (who is now graciously helping me organize this event..thanks Josh!) and found it way too much fun and addicting. And now we're being offered a special price to get others to check this out. Schedule: 5:00 PM: Arrival (5:15 PM at the very latest) 5:30 PM: Watch the instructional video and suit up 6:00 PM: Enter the staging area and take turns flying 6:30 PM: Change and get a debriefing from the coach 7:15 PM: Dinner at Union Brewing Company PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS BELOW: Cost: $33 for two 90 second flights ($100 retail) and tip for the instructors who more than earn it. For $10 extra, the instructor will give you an optional "high flight". With this add-on, the instructor will grab hold of you and fly you higher and faster at the end of your last flight. The $33 is for two 90 second flights for one person. A typical beginner skydive lasts around 45 seconds, so you will walk away with four skydives worth of experience! What to wear: Well-fitting, lace-up sneakers, or running shoes. Loose shoes might fly off and get stuck in the fan. Wear casual clothes, preferably pants and a shirt without a collar. You won't have to change out of these clothes—you'll put your flight suit on over your street clothes. If you do forget to wear the right shoes, they have free loaner pairs. When you show up, you can check in via the kiosk then let the front desk know you are flying with "Josh Spencer". They will give you a wristband and point you upstairs to join the rest of us.
