Practical Cosmic Consciousness: How to Live in an Enlightened Cosmos

In this presentation we examine new ways to envision our place in the universe based upon an expanded sense of proportion and new creation story from cosmology, and upon guidance from sacred traditions. We will place emphasis on reframing questions about our spiritual journey on a tiny planet in a vast universe. How do we integrate scientific cosmic awareness with a search for spiritual cosmic consciousness?  Can we begin to re-imagine a more expansive inner awareness based upon accounts of saints and mystics about their states of enlightenment?  Can we find interesting parallels between our scientific and spiritual quests?

Max’s teaching is based upon a lifelong quest for understanding a larger vision of humanity’s spiritual, cosmic and historical heritage based upon the ageless wisdom.  His passion is making connections between this perennial philosophy and science, history, neoplatonism, sacred geometry, eastern and western spiritual movements.  He received a B.A. in the History of Ideas at UTD in 1978.  He co-founded a yoga philosophy school in the late 1970s.  Currently he is a photographer focusing on transforming nature subjects into abstract images.

Carol Cole, PhD, LMFT is a PsychoSpiritual counselor who serves as a healing presence in the process of transforming change. She purposely chose the term PsychoSpiritual to reflect the perspective of the interplay of the psychological with the broader essence of the spiritual. Carol works with people to integrate what they know into who they are and how they show up in the world. Her unique perspective on the process of transforming change, which is grounded in transpersonal psychology, quantum physics and perennial wisdom, helps others navigate the flow of change with more elegance and ease.
