Hello,

Thank you for your RSVP to our Intro to Python Workshop! We're excited to plan and host this event and look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 10am. We're very fortunate to have the Python Software Foundation sponsor this event and therefore there is no cost to you. We ask that you commit to attending as this is a great opportunity to learn Python from two amazing LA women in tech and to meet other new Pythonistas. If you know you are unable to make it, please change your RSVP as soon as possible. This will help us give someone on the waiting list the opportunity to attend and also order the right amount of food.

Workshop Time: 10am - 2pm

Location: Droplabs 651 Clover LA 90031 Directions

Food: We will provide coffee and bagels in the morning and a Pizza lunch. You're welcome to bring your own snacks or something to share with the group.

Additionally, please review the message from our instructors below. It includes instructions on installing Python on your laptop.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Hi DIY Girls!

We're excited to be working on becoming new pythonistas this weekend, and we wanted to make sure you were prepared for the class so we can hit the ground running.

  • Please take the time to install python 2.6 or 2.7 on your laptop, You can download it here:  http://www.python.org...
  • If you are using Windows, please make sure you set your environment variables, like the answer described here: http://stackoverflow....
  • Please also install GEdit. http://projects.gnome...
  • After each of these are installed you should be able to open up a terminal (not a python-specific shell, a normal computer terminal or shell) and type python and see a prompt like so: $ python>>

If you run into any issues installing, please arrive at the meetup location NO LATER THAN one hour before class so we can assist you in installation. We also encourage you to email us if you have any issues, in case we can debug the problem remotely.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
