9:00AM-10:30AM Tableau Introductory Lab: Hands-On Workshop

Tableau is among the top 10 skills for data scientists today. If you are an aspiring data professional looking to make a career change or move into analytics and data science, then come spend 90-minutes to learn what Tableau is all about and get hands-on lab experience to be introduced to data visualization with Tableau. This workshop is intended for those new to Tableau who want to get an overview of Tableau, learn about resources to learn Tableau, and understand what it takes to get certified in Tableau.

This session is led by Gerard Valerio. Gerard is a data engineer, data evangelist, and data strategist with customer advisory experience working for Tableau, Vertica, and Informatica and management consulting experience working for Accenture and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

10:30AM-12:00PM Data Science Lab: A/B Testing

A/B testing is the underpinning mechanism for testing new ideas. It is widely used for testing marketing campaigns, product designs, or even evaluating effects of new drugs. In this workshop you will step in the role of a data scientist and learn how to perform A/B testing. We will cover basic statistical tools required to do A/B testing and will develop code in R to analyze a data set. This workshop is intended for those interested in learning about Data Science through a hands-on lab.

Please bring a laptop to participate. You will be provided with data and software tools to complete the labs.

This session is led by Vadim Sokolov. Vadim is a leading data scientist and an enthusiastic educator. He has provided data science education to hundreds of students in university settings.
