PRODUCTION MEETING - Make a Movie in a Month - Fall 2018 (D.C.)
Our collaborative production challenge returns with a "Make a Movie in a Month" (MMM 2018). This is the "Wheaton" edition. Make a short film in about 30 days. Get experience, meet new friends, and have some fun. These are the goals of the project. You asked to do it again and now you have the chance. (Everyone is welcome to participate from production veterans to first time filmmakers; from directors to writers to production assistants; & everyone in between.) The theme is "Wheaton". So, be prepared with an idea to share for making a 4 minute short film that takes place in, highlights, or involves Wheaton, MD. The film can be any genre. ******************** Estimated schedule for the night is: 6:30pm: arrival and informal networking 6:45pm: time capped introductions 6:55pm: announcements and group biz/admin 7pm: Begin production discussion, create crew(s), production planning of group project(s). 9:15pm: Conclude production planning discussions 9:16pm: Informal networking 9:30pm: End formal meeting You can bring a crew with you -or- join a crew at the meeting. Crews can be any size. Screenwriters welcome! You will get to start working on your movie at the event! There will be awards & prizes available for the best film. At least one film will be automatically entered as an official selection of the Wheaton Film Festival on 11/09/18 where it will be eligible to win even more awards & prizes. ******************** Calendar of events: 8/27/18 "Make a Movie in a Month" - production begins 8/27/18 Production meeting in D.C. at MakeOffices Dupont 8/29/18 Production meeting in Bethesda at MakeOffices Bethesda 9/30/18 "Make a Movie in a Month" - production ends, all films due by 6pm 11/09/18 The Wheaton Film Festival *********************** The registration cost to participate is only $25 per team [not per person but per team]. Films must be 4 minutes or less in duration. We have 2 production meetings to kick things off. You can attend one or both of the meetings. Develop your projects and networking. Bring your creative talent and a willingness to help your peers. Short, time-capped introductions will occur around 6:45 pm. Get ready to work together on some great projects. ****************** All are welcome, including filmmakers, editors, directors, producers, service professionals, actors, writers, hair/makeup, investors, students, ... . Bring business cards.
