Welcome to DNA DIVAS, where the dreams of women are nurtured & accelerated!
What we’re about!
DNA DIVAs is a group of positive likeminded women and business owners who want to grow personally and professionally and as leaders, and who want to make a difference. We will exchange ideas, resources, information, share lessons learned, and have REAL talk about subjects and challenges that are relevant to us as women. We will laugh, cry, celebrate, network, expand, and grow together. We will inspire one another, encourage one another, and hold each other accountable to live out our purpose and to achieve our dreams, goals, and visions. This will happen in a nurturing, non-competitive, non-judgemental, and fun-loving environment. We will have quarterly events that may include training, guest speakers, fun outings, and networking. In addition, we will plan local, domestic, and international trips, events, and activities.
There may also be impromptu meetups, outings, and activities. We plan to be a very active group, so we expect our members to be active and to make suggestions regarding group activities. FYI, members may also host events and activities for our group, and advertise events sponsored by other meet-up groups they are part of. NOTE: This is subject to the approval of group organizers. Remember, the more value you add, by participating, serving, and inspiring others; the more you will gain from this group. Members who are not active and who don't participate in group events will be removed from the group so that others who are interested in attending events can do so.
In addition, there will also be an opportunity for business owners to become part of an exclusive Inner Circle. The Inner Circle will have more intimate masterminds, networking events, and the opportunity to spotlight their business at an annual event for $279/annually.
We are an inclusive and diverse group that welcomes women of all ages, races, nationalities, economic status, educational levels, religions, and regardless of any physical or emotional challenges. You do not need to be a business owner to be part of this group, but you must be positive and accepting of other views and opinions, open-minded, and compassionate. The organizers are women of faith, who share their faith with pride. If that is uncomfortable for you, this is not the group for you. The experiences within the group will be enriched by full participation by many. However, the Organizers reserve the right to drop individuals from the group who don’t model our virtues and values. In addition, we reserve the right to revoke membership due to a lack of participation, inappropriate behavior, attitudes, mindsets, and actions not in the best interests of the group. That decision will be made by the Organizers. Additionally, new members must abide by the Cost of Becoming a Member, Photo, Limitations on Use of Member Contact Information, Liability Waiver and Guidelines for Hosts policies and all subsequent future policies to be described on this page.
Cost of Becoming a Member
Due to an increase in interest in the DNAS DIVAS Meetup group, we have reached our 50-person membership maximum under the basic membership subscription. Due to the continued interest in this group and membership request, the Organizers must upgrade to an unlimited membership subscription plan. The annual cost for the unlimited subscription plan is $180.00 per year to run and maintain the website. Effective immediately, a $5.00 donation fee per member will be charged to offset the cost of the unlimited subscription fee and other expenses that come up throughout the year.
The Organizers pays the required semi-annual Meetup dues to maintain the site and to perform the work needed to plan a variety of activities for the enjoyment of everybody. The Organizers will plan and execute the details of group events as best as possible. However, some circumstances may develop that are beyond their control. Understanding and supportive members will appreciate those efforts and will exercise grace when circumstances occur outside the control of the organizers.
The Organizers will attempt to offer meetups that do not require them to collect fees. However, some meetup events including trips will require a fee for attendance. Members will be directed to pay those fees to third parties offering the activity. (See further information in Guidelines for Event Hosts.)
For consistency, new members failing to submit a photo of herself may be sent the following message: “We are happy that you have joined our meetup group. In order to continue to be a part of this group, it is mandatory that you upload a current profile photo of yourself so that all members of this group can see who will be joining them on these events (in all fairness to the other members who have uploaded their photos). Please do so within the next two days, otherwise, we will have no choice but to revoke your membership.”
Photos of pets and cute animals, cartoons, beautiful landscapes, flowers, etc. are not acceptable photographs. Photos prior to an event really do help when groups gather to verify that those who have indicated the desire to participate in an event have shown up.
The Organizers may revoke membership at any time even without notification for members who fail to conduct themselves in a respectful, positive, and compassionate manner. If your membership is revoked due to a violation of the photo policy and subsequently are able to provide an acceptable photo, you may reapply for membership at any time. Please understand that tracking compliance with this photo policy can become a time consuming administrative task. If you are dropped for violating this policy, it should not be taken personally. It is only fair that everybody complies equally.
Limitations on Use of Member Contact Information
This group is not made available by the Organizers for others to use for promoting interests outside this group. The main purpose of this Meetup group is to bring women together. The purpose of this Meetup is not for professionals to solicit business from group Members. Please refrain from using the Meetup and its members solely for solicitation. Professionals may participate in events but must refrain from doing so with the sole purpose to “sell” products.
Guidelines for Event Hosts
The Organizers will from time-to-time seek the assistance of others to serve as Hosts/Hostesses for upcoming Meetup events. Please volunteer if you think you can provide that service for the benefit of the group.
There may be times people will volunteer to host events. Such events must be submitted for review/approval of the Organizers. If you wish to host an event, please submit a description of the event for review.
1) All events must be submitted to and approved by the Organizers prior to being posted by organizers.
2) The Organizers reserves the right to delete events deemed not appropriate. These include, but are not limited to Unapproved Parties in private homes.
-High-risk activities (e.g., rock climbing, boating). -Advertisements posted by travel and other professionals masquerading as Meetups.
-Events promoting one’s personal business for personal gain.
-Events requiring members to pay any kind of money to Event Hosts. Some events may require a fee. Members may pay a fee to a third party. For example, a member will buy food at a restaurant or member will purchase a ticket to an event.
-Events cross-posted from other Meetup groups by Event Hosts unless approved by Organizer of the other Meetup group and this Meetup group.
-Meetups that automatically repeat.
-Meetups with absentee Event Hosts or with none or vague info as to how to find the Event Host & group.
3) Meetup does not allow Event Hosts to collect money through Meetup. Furthermore, the Organizers prohibit offline payments to Event Hosts. Only the Organizers, on a very rare occasion, would be allowed to schedule events involving the collection of money. This will be only on rare occasions and only when absolutely necessary to allow participation by all in the event. Any exchange of money by members, other than with the Organizers, is outside of the DNA DIVAS Meetup group and all risks are strictly assumed by the parties involved.
Hosts will be expected to answer questions posed by those interested in the event, to greet event attendees, as possible, and to make all attendees feel welcome to the event. Hosts must alert the Organizer of any concerns about the conduct of the Meetup event and its participants, especially the failure by any Member to abide by the conduct expected and outlined in the Liability Waiver section.
I am happy to have you join us and attend our Meetup events. By signing up for a DNA DIVAS event you are agreeing to the terms of the Liability Waiver in the Pages section of this Meetup and will conduct yourself in a way that is considerate of the health, safety, and welfare of yourself and other participants in the DNA DIVAS Meetup events and activities.
