Without giving away all the surprises of the ride, here is a short description of what we'll be doing. We will meet at Babb's BBQ just before 3pm Saturday. We will get a headcount of cyclists and divide everyone into 4 teams to appoint a team leader. The team leader will be given a GPS coordinate to lead his team of cyclists on mountain/hybrid bikes to that GPS location. There they will find a sign with the photo challenge as well as additional instructions to another GPS location. A judge will be there to assist in the team photo challenge (see event for some examples of what we did on our last scavenger hunt). The judge will then upload the photo to the meetup site for later judging. Then your off as a team to a new location. There will probably be 4 to 5 stops along the bike trail. This ride will be in the trinity river trails beneath the "Hunt Bridge". Once your team completes all the photo challenges, then you pedal back to the Babb's BBQ for dinner, drinks, and the awards ceremony. Each photo spot will have a winning team announced. The team with the most wins will be declared the grand champion and will receive awards. The judges will also award a special prize to the best overall photograph.

This is a fun event and the bike ride itself will be at a fairly average pace of about 8 to 10 mph. The total distance will be less than 10 miles of flat land on paved trails, packed dirt, and packed gravel. It is not a race, it is simply a chance to have fun, meet some new friends, and explore a part of Dallas most never venture.

More details can be found on the link above. This meetup group has a lot of mountain bikers in both this DORBA group, as well as the "Dallas Cycling Trail Riders and Weekend Pub Crawlers" Group. We thought it would be fun to have a shared event.

There is not cost to participate in the ride itself. If you plan on eating or drinking afterwards, you'll need to bring some money. We also will likely walk across the street after the awards ceremony to 4 Corners Brewery for a drink or 2.

We recommend you bring a lock to secure your bike after the ride if you don't have it inside your car.
