DORBA Beginner Clinic

DORBA will have a new beginner clinic on Saturday October 3rd at Horseshoe Trail (east trailhead) in Grapevine at 8:30 AM. This will be held in conjunction with the annual "Take a Kid Mountain Biking event, put on every year at this trail by the trail stewards Travis Smith and Guy Strait. You DO NOT have to be a kid to attend this clinic. This clinic is open to one and all.

Blain Norfleet will be your instructor, you can send him a private message at "bikecop" on the Dorba.org website, if you have any questions. Or, just post your questions below. Blain IS a bike cop for the Dallas Police department and teachers their cops how to ride effectively. Blain is a very popular instructor.

What: There is a "classroom" for about an hour, a mini-skills workshop for 30-45 minutes minutes, and then a ride of an hour or more. So count on approximately 3 hours. Beginner Clinics will consist of basic instruction including bike setup, safety, trail etiquette, bike handling skills such as braking, shifting, riding position, steering, momentum, cornering, and rolling over small obstacles, etc.

Who: The clinic is recommended for riders new to the sport. If you have never ridden a Mountain Bike before or have just started out riding, then this is for you.

We DO require that you bring and use your helmet, bring water, and a small snack that fits in your pocket. And yes, you need to bring your own bike (I get asked!)
