Beginner Clinic has MOVED
Details
I am moving this clinic to the Katie Jackson Trail in North Dallas, because the trail steward at River Legacy says it will not be dry in time, and the Katie Jackson trail is open and should remain open for Sunday. I have changed the time to 9:30 to give people extra time to find it. Please arrive by 8:45 so you can gear up. We will meet at the Gazebo in the park on Haverood Ln
The trail's web page is here: http://dorba.org/trail.php?t=33 zoom in to the right of the red map marker to see the small parking lot next to the small structure with the green roof surrounded by a circular sidewalk. We will meet there.

What: There is a "classroom" for about an hour or so, a mini-skills workshop for 30 minutes, and then a ride of an hour or more. So count on approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. The clinic is recommended for riders new to the sport. If you have never ridden a mountain bike before or have just started out riding, then this is for you. Beginner Clinics will consist of basic instruction including bike setup, safety, trail etiquette, bike handling skills such as climbing, descending, cornering, obstacles, etc. There will be a ride after the instructional portion of the clinic.
You do NOT need to be a DORBA member or FWMBA member to attend. You WILL be told why you should consider joining one of these clubs.
Requirements: You must sign a DORBA Liability Waiver, bring a bike, a good attitude, and a bicycle helmet that you are willing to wear for the entire clinic. Please download the DORBA liability waiver, http://files.meetup.com/3841722/NEW-WAIVER.pdf fill it out, and bring it with you. We will only have a FEW copies on hand for people who don't have a printer. If you don't have a signed waiver, you will not be allowed to attend the clinic.
We DO require that you bring and use your helmet and strongly advise you to bring water. If you do not agree with our helmet requirement you will not be allowed to participate. The classroom part of the clinic lasts an hour, so bring a camp chair if you want to be comfortable.
Please read the Clinic FAQs (http://dorba.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=218)
This clinic is dependent upon good weather and trail conditions. CHECK THIS POST THE MORNING OF THE CLINIC for any changes or cancelations. i.e. don't ask me "is this thing still going to happen". If I have to cancel because of weather, I will make the appropriate announcement on this thread.
Parents can determine whether or not your child is old enough to attend. Parent are responsible for the happiness, behavior, and safety of their kids every single minute of the clinic. They will not be allowed to hold back the rest of the clinic. All attendees under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them. You can not drop off your kid.
This clinic will be lead by me, Chris Mann
