For the 7th year in the row, it's time for a Global Azure event, with the current situation in the world speakers can't travel here & we can't safely host an in-person event. But instead of canceling the event, we've been working hard to place the Azure event in the cloud. This ensures everyone can safely join wherever they are♥

The link to the event revealed when you RSVP here on Meetup, but feel free to share it with anyone you'd think be interested in the event.

Introduction to Durable Functions in Azure
Durable functions are stateful functions & will make checkpoints and restart at a checkpoint if a process is recycled. Durable functions allow you to call other Azure Functions and obtain the returned data. This makes patters such as Function chaining and Fan-out/Fan-in much more easier. They also can provide you with an async status update of your running function from an http endpoint.
Come to this session and I will show you how to code several different patterns using durable functions. I will also show you several demo's of common scenarios you would use them.
It's an exciting time to be a developer!

I teach a technical university course that delivers the next generation of SharePoint developers to Gothenburg, Sweden. I am a technical enthusiast and always strive to keep both my students and myself up-to-date with the latest changes in technology, with a focus on Microsoft 365 development and the Azure Stack.

Getting Started with Azure Command and Query
So, you want to move to Azure? You’ve read the success stories, and you see the benefits yourself.
But just how do you get started? And how to you convince those who don’t see the benefits as you do?
In this talk we will get started on the Azure development route. Using a static angular site that communicates with a Web API to display data, and then using message queues and functions to store data from the user in table storage.
So that when you leave you can explore for yourself!

Stacy Cashmore
Stacy is Tech Explorer DevOps at Omniplan
She’s been developing software since the mid-1990s and has been speaking about improving the way we develop software at conferences and meetups since 2018
As well as sparing with the software architect about technical issues, she spends her time helping the development team, and the wider company, with continuous improvement in terms of technical work, process and, of course, working together as a team.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her classic car, cooking, playing the piano badly and spending time with her family, doing amongst other things, building a Lego modular building city in their house.

Five Azure Services Every Developer Should Know
The Cloud is here to stay, and Azure is the clear winner when it comes to PASS offerings. If you are new to Azure, the question you might be asking yourself is "Where do I start?" Please join me and we will explore in this session which services you should know, in order to have a successful journey to Azure.
