It’s easy enough to put together a project plan: break down the tasks, estimate the effort, create a schedule, identify risks, etc. and put it all into a tidy document. But doing all this well requires a difficult skill: let’s call it “mental time travel.” We need to imagine what things will be like at various points in the future and develop our plan to help make that vision a reality.

In this presentation, Carson will draw on all sorts of nerdy concepts and techniques to get us there, including scenario planning, reference class forecasting, client empathy mapping, and much more.

And if that's not enough, there will be the usual free food and drinks, some sort of game with prizes... plus all your PM friends will be there. See you on Jan. 29!

Carson Pierce is the PM Lead at Yellow Pencil and one of the co-organizers of the DPM Meetup. Whenever he speaks at events like these, the topic of neuroscience always sneaks in.
