Sorry!  I thought I had that included, but most have accidentally deleted it.  :(

If you have things to donate or want to volunteer, contact:

Cheri - If we have items to donate to the HUA garage sale who can we contact? Or do you know if are there times we can drop off at the location?

Happy Thursday!  Almost to the weekend!

Hope your boss doesn't do this to you today!

Here's a couple of events you can hit this Saturday:

Big Woofin Garage Sale to benefit HUA!

It's the annual Memorial Park/Dundee Garage Sale in Omaha and HUA supporter, Bonnie, will be donating 100% of the proceeds at her garage sale to HUA!

  • Saturday, May 17th, 2014
  • 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • 55th & Emile, one block north of Leavenworth on 55th Street (On the corner--there will be a sign in the yard)

How you can help:

  • Donate (They need stuff to sell!)
  • Ask friends and family if they have anything to donate.
  • Volunteer to help (set-up, during or clean up)
  • Shop!  (And it is a neighborhood garage sale!)
  • Invite all your friends and family to come shop!

K9 Bark and Walk for Brain Cancer

  • Saturday, May 17
  • Registration starts at 11:30 am
  • Walk begins 1:00 pm
  • Chalco Hills

Rescues, vendors, food, games, raffles and lots of fun for a great cause!  Help fight Brain cancer and get the pups outside!  Sponsored by Leap for a Cure.

One more thing....

If you've been following the Dachshunds Anonymous Facebook page, you may have noticed my post about trying to win a new dog park in Omaha.   A company called PetSafe is sponsoring a contest where the winning city will get a brand new $100,000 dog park!

Last Saturday's meet-up at Hefflinger.

We use the dog parks each month during the summer for our meet-ups. And a $100,000 new one sure would be nice! 4 runner up cities get $25,000 prizes, so even if we didn't win, there's still a chance at some money to improve the parks we have.

Henry says he would LOVE a new dog park!

You can vote every day until June 7th.

Go to:

It honestly only takes about 2 minutes to set up your account.  (All you need is your email address and then set up a password.)  Daily voting takes less than a minute, as you log in your email and password, then type in some numbers or letters to cut down on people trying to cheat.  (You can also go to the DA facebook page and click on the link.)

Abby and Oliver are begging you to vote to win a new dog park!

That's it. It's that easy.  The hard part is remembering to do it every day!  Today when I voted, Omaha only had 470 votes. (Yesterday was 458.)  I don't think that will win us a new dog park. But if we each voted every day.... Let's show everyone what a group of dachshund lovers can do!!!  Let's win Omaha a new dog park!!!

(Tell your friends and family to vote, too!

Have a good day and a good weekend!

~Cheri and the pups

PS  Rojo came to the meet-up on Saturday.  He is a cheerful, happy, playful, loving little guy and guess what???  He's NOT blind!!!  He has what is called micro eyes (small eyes) from breeding 2 dapples together, but he can still see.  May not be completely clear, but he doesn't run into things, and can do steps just fine.  He is also POTTY TRAINED!  He is an adorable little guy that would fit into any family!  Available for adoption through Hands, Hearts and Paws.
