The Dallas Atheist Book Club is a place for freethinkers (atheists, agnostics, skeptics, secularists, etc.) to read and to engage in lively discussion about books relating to atheism, freethought, science, history, governance, biography, psychology, philosophy, and some fiction.
We try to meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM for the book review. This is usually followed up with a social gathering at a local restaurant or bar for dinner and drinks at 9:00 PM.
We also occasionally meet for a movie night and informal get together from time to time as well.
Please check the group's calendar for an update list of events. The "Pages" tab on the group's Meetup site also has lots if information as well as a list of past, present and future books.
Join your fellow book club members for a social outing. We can continue our interesting discussions from the last meeting, start a new conversation, or just relax and have a drink.
We will meet at the La Madeleine French Bakery & Café at
5000 West Park Boulevard Suite 100 · Plano, TX. For this meeting we have the meeting room. This means we are in a quiet environment. This will be the last meeting of this type for the year.
The Book for November is:
On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder
The book was nominated by Skip Kilmer and he will be the moderator.
Thanks to the 13 that voted in the poll.
For the fourth time we will be meeting at the Aboca's Italian Grill
100 S Central Expy #63 · Richardson, Tx 75080 (SW corner Belt Line and US 75)
