What we're about

Hi, we are Mitcher and Emily. We're a married couple in our early/mid 30s who recently moved to the Dallas area. We're originally from Kansas City, but we lived abroad for the past 2 years in Sydney, Australia. We're new to the city and anxious to check out all that Dallas has to offer, and that includes making new friends!

We designed this group after things we love, so you'll see events such as: trying out a new restaurant, happy hour, trivia night, a local festival, wine tasting, a brewery tour, or anything else fun happening in and around Dallas.

We live in Uptown so many of our events will be in the surrounding areas, though anyone is welcome to join. This group is for couples. We don't have kids, but you're welcome to join if you have kids. We'd like to make friends around our own age, so if you're late 20s to 30s (or, even if you're not but you feel that age!), you're welcome to join! Expats welcome, too!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Night in Fort Worth - Joe T. Garcia's and two-steppin' at Billy Bob's Honky Tonk

Let's take a 'trip' and spend the evening in Fort Worth! We'll start our evening off at the famous Joe T. Garcia's. This Mexican restaurant is a true staple of Fort Worth; it's been around since 1935. And they are so confident in what they do that they only serve what they do best: you have a choice of either fajitas or enchiladas. They have a large outdoor dining area which has a great atmosphere. If we get 20 people, we can get a reservation, but if we're less than 20, we'll just have to wait for a table. After our Mexican dinner, we'll head over to Billy Bob's. Another Fort Worth staple, Billy Bob's is the largest honky tonk in the world. They have two large stages and more bars than you could count. The building itself was built in 1910 and throughout its life it acted as: an open air barn; livestock hall; auction ring; stock show; airplane factory during WWII; department store; and finally, an entertainment venue. Billy Bob's attracts some of the biggest country stars, and on this evening they do happen to have a concert; Ned Ledoux goes on at 10:30PM. So even though we plan to arrive early for some non-live country music, be aware that we may have to pay a cover charge to get in due to the concert later on, which is $16. So put on your Canadian tuxedo and your cowboy boots, and let's have a fun night of Mexican food and country music in Fort Worth! Itinerary: 6:00PM - Dinner at Joe T. Garcia's (2201 N Commerce St. Fort Worth, TX 76164, https://joetgarcias.com) 8:30-ish - Line dancin' and two-steppin' (or just beer drinkin') at Billy Bob's Texas (2520 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth, TX 76164, https://billybobstexas.com/) We'll head over to Billy Bob's as soon as dinner is over. We anticipate a bit of a wait at Joe T. Garcia's, so I've built in some extra time just in case it takes a while for us to finish dinner. PS - If we do get 20 people for dinner, we have to pay for our table in advance, so if that happens, I will ask to collect the cash ahead of time. I'll keep you all posted the week before the event once we see how many people we have coming.
