Ask Your Documents Anything: Building a RAG Knowledge Assistant with Elasticsearch - Bhupesh Srivastava (Senior GenAI Data Scientist at PwC)
Many teams have important information spread across PDFs, policy documents, technical manuals, operational reports, and internal knowledge bases, but finding the right answer quickly can be difficult. In this session, I will walk through a practical prototype for building a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) knowledge assistant using Elasticsearch.The session will cover how documents can be ingested, indexed, searched, and retrieved based on a user’s question, then used to provide grounded AI-generated responses. I will focus on the practical workflow behind a search-powered knowledge assistant, including document preparation, retrieval, relevance, and how Elasticsearch can improve the quality and speed of information discovery.
The goal is to provide attendees with a hands-on example they can adapt for internal knowledge search, support, operations, or documentation use cases.
Ground Zero: Building a Real-Time AI Incident Intelligence Agent for FIFA 2026 Using Elastic MCP and Gemini - Sravya Vemula
When Copa America 2024's final was delayed over an hour due to gate breaches at the same venue hosting FIFA 2026, it highlighted a critical gap — operations teams had thousands of incoming signals but no unified intelligence layer to act on them in real time. Ground Zero was built to solve that.
In this talk I'll walk through how I built a real-time AI incident intelligence agent for FIFA 2026 venues using Elasticsearch as the core layer, integrated through the Elastic MCP Server. The agent ingests live signals from OpenWeatherMap, NewsAPI, and social feeds, clusters them by gate, keywords, and time window, and automatically escalates severity from P2 to P1 based on signal velocity. A key architectural decision was using Elastic MCP Server as the primary interface between the Gemini agent and Elasticsearch — rather than direct SDK calls — making the integration cleaner and more agent-native.I'll cover how this MCP-first approach changed the way I thought about agent-to-data communication.
I'll also discuss the human-in-the-loop approval design, MongoDB audit trail, Arize Phoenix observability, and key lessons learned — including challenges with serverless Elastic configuration and why keeping humans in control is a feature, not a limitation, in safety-critical AI systems.
