[Cross-List] Colin Sewards Annual Winter Solstice Party
This is one of the regular events hosted by one of our sibling organizations in the area that we happily cross-list here for greater exposure. For the original event, please see one or both of the following: https://www.meetup.com/Metroplex-Atheists/events/252807855/ https://www.facebook.com/events/2188659608042627/ SPECIAL GUEST - MATT DILLAHUNTY will be doing a short talk on skepticism followed by a magic show. We will be returning to the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens for our annual Solstice Party. We will be meeting indoors so weather won't bother us. Metroplex Atheists will be providing meat for the meal (probably turkey and ham or brisket) and we encourage each person or family to provide generous side dishes for themselves and others. We may provide some guidance regarding which dishes each family can provide at a later date. We will be having our usual "Chinese” gift exchanges, one for adults and one for children. We usually say limits for the gifts are around $10.00 but you can use your own judgment. Also, we will be having a silent auction to raise money to pay for the party. If there is something (hopefully nice) that you would like to contribute, please bring it, or as many items as you’d like to give. There will be an after party with Matt Dillahunty following the solstice party. We will be partying at the Radisson Hotel Lobby Bar on Meacham Blvd(just off 35W) beginning at about 5:30PM going until ???. Rooms are available at a discount rate by calling[masked] and asking for the "Billy Bob's" rate. We hope to see a bunch of people there so we can have a big, fun party!

What we're about

Join other Atheists/nonbelievers for conversation and camaraderie. Out main event is the weekly dinner every Tuesday evening - check the Calendar section to find us. We also have other events, often in coordination with some of the other local groups, and if you want to host something else we will happily add something to the schedule.
