Urban Permaculture Including Chickens: Lawton Permaculture DVD

Details
See a chicken coop made from strawbales which mutes the sound of roosters. And a dual purpose chicken coop that centers the chicken house with two (or more) gardens fenced on each sides. Chickens are allowed in at the end of growing season to clean up the plants and prepare the garden for the next planting. Once the new garden is established, chickens can come back to demolish pests and clean up fallen produce.
Lawton loves chooks (Australian for chickens) and even describes himself as a Permaculture Rooster. This is part of a chapter on raising the animal species that meet his criteria for sharing close quarters with humans: Quiet, small, productive, & helpful in the garden.
There is also a chapter on Aquaculture which is excellent.
