What we're about

This is a casual group for playing pick-up games of Dungeons and Dragons, 5th Edition. Whether you're entirely new to the game or an old hand at tabletop roleplaying games, we welcome you!

The main event is our series of public Monday games which take place from 6:00 - 9:00pm CST every week. We have other events on the schedule, but those are usually private games that you have to apply to join.

To join a game, make sure to RSVP using its event page and read the information provided there. There might be hardware requirements and further instructions you need to follow that will help you join and play as smoothly as possible.

Hope to see you at our games!

Monday Dungeons and Dragons (Online using Discord/Roll20)

Needs a location

This event is a pick-up game for players of all skill and experience levels. New players and veteran players are equally welcome. We play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition over the internet using Discord as well as Roll20. Each session has a maximum of 6 players, and you must RSVP here on Meetup in order to play.

The adventures often wrap up in one play session and are different every week. In past meetups, the characters have visited a tropical island to retrieve an idol from friendly natives, solved a murder mystery involving the prince of the land, shut down a time-traveling money counterfeiting process, and ran their own restaurant for an evening, all with disastrous and invariably hilarious results.

If you have any questions, be sure to check the FAQ section below. If you still have questions, you can ask them on the Discord server for the fastest response, or message me (GM Cody) here on Meetup. Hope to see you at one of our games!

FAQs
How do I make my own character?
Unfortunately, you can't. We have a list of premade characters to select from once the game session starts.

Why can't I make my own character?
To avoid Roll20 bugs and errors. Players were once able to create their own characters, but mistakes introduced by Roll20's character creation process made it so that 20-30 minutes of each session was spent trying to troubleshoot and make corrections on sheets. It wasn't fun or fair for anyone.

What level are the characters?
They are persistently 7th level and do not level up. This is so that the characters are powerful and fun to play, but not so complicated as to be intimidating for new players.

What is the game setting like?
Most adventures occur within a country called The Homeland, which is the base of operations for the organization that all the players' characters belong to. Outside of the Homeland, the world has been intentionally left vague so that many tropes of the fantasy genre can fit within it.

How does my character know the other characters?
We "lampshade" this by saying that all the characters have known each other for many years already.

Delve of the Fool's Hope Dungeon

Needs a location

If you're interested in joining this game, contact GM Cody.

This is a paid dungeon crawl game is for a specific and predetermined group of players. Spectating is welcome, but being able to play is unlikely if you have not been in contact with the GM. Permanent seats may occasionally open up, so keep an eye our for emails from Dungeons and Dragon in Dallas if you're interested in joining the campaign.

They call it the Fool’s Hope, and no one has ever been to the bottom. Many have entered and many have come back out, but not always alive or in one piece. Different adventuring groups disagree on the contents of the Fool’s Hope. It seems that both the layout and denizens of the dungeon differ for each party that goes in. There is no mapping it, there is no understanding it, and there is almost no surviving it.

Only one thing is known for sure about the Fool’s Hope dungeon: the gods of the realm say that they have left a gift of incalculable, world-changing power on the lowest floor. To reach it, you must enter the Fool’s Hope and fight your way down.
