Greetings PostgreSQL Gurus!
Thank you to John Scott for volunteering for this topic at the last meeting.
This presentation is a case study of the evolution of PostgreSQL in the carrier grade critical messaging business, starting with the year 2000 to the present.
Since the year 2000, PostgreSQL has quietly been a part of the critical messaging infrastructure of a multi-million customer, carrier grade American telecommunication company. Typical customers are hospitals, emergency medical and fire. This talk is a case study of how usage of PostgreSQL evolved, starting from front end dispatching in year 2000 to backend routing in 2014, the database systems PostgreSQL replaced and the future role PostgreSQL will play as the critical messaging business itself matures.
