Building Sites with Hapi

We're starting Dallas Node back up again! All you really need to know is JavaScript to be prepared for this meetup. In this meeting we'll build a site using Hapi, a web framework for Node. Along the way we'll discuss...

• How to get Hapi running

• How to setup static file handling

• How to deploy to Heroku

• How to create simple JSON APIs

• How to connect to Mongo DB to save and retrieve data

• How to use Joi to validate requests.

Pizza will be provided. We are in room 109. It has a large glass wall that faces the main courtyard.

If you enjoyed the meetup, you will probably get a lot out of this little self paced course: https://github.com/hapijs/makemehapi

There is also a Hapi.js University that is worth checking out https://github.com/hapijs/university/blob/master/guides/contents.md

"Hey whoa I would like a bit slower more gradual approach." Seriously, a lot of the library and framework names were flying low over my head, and a bit too thick for me to note them down as fast as they come. If I can Google them as we go, I can quickly get the context without having to interrupt or wait for the end and the Q and A.

Parking was great. You can get from parking to the room with only just a few sprinkles. The meetup is on!

Unfortunately the weather won't allow me to go, any chance of the code being pushed to git?

Where is the best place to park for this venue?

The garage is below the Centrum building. The first two levels should be available minus reserved and valet spaces.
