What we're about

Dance Hack is all about bringing the world of dance and technology together. From installations, via experimentation, to performances.

This meetup is for professionals to meet and learn, but also for visitors and people with interest to see, learn and enjoy.

Sunday 3
from 14h till 18h
will be open for hacking, dance experiments with sounds, projection, sensor detection From 19h till 21h30
there will be a showcase of works that have been developed.

Are you a dancer, mover, maker, coder, musician, software developer, hacker, or plain interested in those fields and the combination of them? Then you are invited to DANCE HACK 2017!

We are looking for curious and open minded collaborators to investigate how dance and performance can affect or be affected by coded programmes. We are looking for new or existing ideas that will contribute towards a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic exploration over two days (more information below). You can use this moment to research and realise a recurring coding problem, rethink a programme design, or initiate a conversation between movement and technology.

Dance Hack is a global event that will take place simultaneously in San Francisco and Amsterdam. We will also be streaming data across the two locations. We will stream dancers data, video data and Berkeley University will stream weather data. This data is open for the performers to experiment with.
