Darwin Web Meetup double feature: Creating a URL shortener and 3D printing 101

Details

This week we have a double feature with a web talk and a talk from the Darwin Hackerspace.

Creating a URL shortening service
Jay will be giving a web talk on his experiences creating a URL shortening service. He'll talk about the challenges and considerations in building the application and look at the final solution he built.

3D Printing 101
3D printers are an incredible tool for hackers, techies, artists, children and adults alike. Come along to 3D printing 101 at our the Darwin Hackerspace meet this month to learn more. Mat will cover the basics of 3D printing technology in a show and tell talk where you can see 3D printers in action. In addition to discussing the hardware and software aspects, we'll cover how you can get started in 3D printing yourself, whatever your budget.

Call for future presentations: We're looking for people to share a short presentation at future events. Something you've learnt, the latest best practice in your area of specialty, some code, a side project. Email your ideas to darwinwebstandards@gmail.com

Don't forget to join our Slack community at https://slack.darwinwebstandards.org/
