Details
Note: Please provide your full name, job title, and company you work for. If you're a student provide the name of your university instead. This is so we can sort out logistics/badges at reception. Thank you and look forward to meet you all.
We’ve recognised that through feedback from our own events and others that the representation of graduate/female speakers is still below where we want it to be – with a very low percentage actually submitting speaker request forms/call for papers. This meetup would be a soft skills session with the view of giving the participants the confidence and know how around submitting a ‘call for papers’ request and then presenting on stage. Speakers include:
Debra Lilley – UKOUG – What makes an awesome call for paper? ‘What she looks for when reviewing call for paper submissions’
Abi Haigh – Data Scientist NHS – The day she looked at the agenda to see no women listed encouraged her to submit her first call for paper – a year later she is personally invited to Oracle Openworld – a 50k audience conference
Helen Cottee – Life Coach - Fake it before you make it is real. How to be the confident you before your confident.
The event will start at 6.30pm and finished at 8.30pm. Doors open from 6pm.
