Data Science Nairobi is a non-profit professional group that brings together people interested in data science in Nairobi. We are a community of data scientists, data miners, statisticians, data analysts, data engineers, data architects, data visualizers, data journalists, data science practitioners, data consultants, academics, researchers, people from science and social sciences, and in general people directly involved in data projects. Some of our favorite tools include:

• R (https://www.r-project.org/): The R Project for Statistical Computing

• Python (https://www.python.org/)

• Scala (http://www.scala-lang.org/)

We meet to discuss the tools, methods and technologies used to ingest, transform, explore, analyze & visualize data, obtain predictive & prescriptive insight, develop data products, and exploit business opportunities from data products. If you are interested in data science and you'd like to meet like-minded data scientists and people from startups, companies, academia, government agencies and non-profit organizations directly involved in data projects, come and join us.

We try to foster an environment where everyone feels comfortable to share and learn. We welcome your ideas on how to make this group an exciting growth opportunity for everyone.

Come to meet others and contribute to the community!
