The cities we are living in are complex systems that are hard to understand in its dynamics. Visualizing the generated data can give us insights of the hidden pattern behind the city. But they also make cities. By deciding what to include into the maps, we create images and realities of the city. Join us for three talks on Tuesday that approach this topic from different perspectives! We're very excited to have the following speakers:

------

Lisa Rudolf (@lisa_g_r) will share her experiences of interdisciplinary team work by giving insights into Viavelox, a research project dealing with the visualisation of gps-tracked bike rides. A special emphasis will be put on the collaborative creative process with all its highs and lows ( and why it was totally worth it).
Lisa is a communication design student at UAS Mannheim specializing in interaction & information design.

------

Heike Otten (@heikeotten_) will present her project „Urban data flaneur“, an augmented reality visualization to explore urban data right in the city. She will give some process insights and share lessons learned about the combination of augmented reality and data visualization.
Heike is a Berlin-based UX designer with a heart for data visualization. Some of her work can be found here: http://www.heikeotten.de

------

Fabian Dinklage (@fdnklg) and Fabian Ehmel (@fabianehmel) will present „City in Flux“, a project that visualizes the informal and formal mobility networks of Cape Town. Their talk will give some insights into the data analysis process and the major design decisions.
Fabian and Fabian are both working as interaction designers and studying Interfacedesign at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. They developed this course project together with Valentina Troendle and Caroline Doyé.
