Welcome to our first Auckland Meetup!
Our mission is to bring amazing people together to help create a positive change and we would love for you to join us on this journey.
We want to get everyone together and bounce some ideas off each other for how we can grow this movement and get Data Professionals on board to use their skills for good. It will be an open forum for anyone who wants to contribute their ideas. There will be food, drinks, a couple of speakers and lots of conversation!
We hope you can attend!
Venue has now changed to Hotel DeBrett in the Drawing Room space, you can ask at reception for the Data4Good event.
Here's how the night will run:
We will start at 5:30pm for some networking, drinks & canapés.
Speakers talks will kick off at 6pm.
We have the following speakers:
- Steven MacLeod ~ EcoTrack App and experienced Eco Warrior Entrepreneur (https://ecotrack.nz/)
- Alex Gray & Sylvia Howes ~ Data4Good ANZ
- Everybody ~ forum to discuss “where to” with Data4Good NZ.
Followed by some more networking and a drink if you feel like it!
We plan to keep it pretty casual, if you can't stay the entire time, we'd still love you to pop in, have a chat and meet the group anyway!
-----ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS-----
Steven is passionate about protecting New Zealand’s wildlife and environment and has spent countless hours creating and app and gathering data to help with this mission. Learn more about Steve’s journey and how you may be able to help.
Alex – enthusiastic, driven, awesome… did we say enthusiastic already?! Alex will share what’s been happening in the NZ Data4Good landscape and share details of the inspiring conference planned for November.
Sylvia occasionally emerges from the Data4Good world, but spends a good amount of time exploring Data4Good possibilities. She will share stories from past Data4Good events including the recent event on Modern Day Slavery and the wide range of topics (from improving urban landscapes to preventing deaths at sea) that came up from the Sydney conference.
The environment and wildlife protection are one part of an incredible amount of places we can use Data4Good – from Social Justice to SmartCities, come along and find out how you can be more involved.
Free food and drinks provided
Please RSVP so we can cater for you all.
If you have anyone you think will be interested in this event please let them know, we want this movement to grow globally.
Hope to see you all there!
