Abstracts & bios:
18:45 Gwellyn Daandels - AI Data Modernization
AI Data Modernization is an “AI-Driven Data-First” approach to simplify and transform existing data landscape into a future-ready responsive data foundation capable of faster intelligence across the enterprise.
We will dive into the underlying guiding principles of AI data Modernization combined with several customer cases.
Gwellyn Daandels is working as a business leader for Cognizant Artificial Intelligence and Analytics (AI&A) and has a passion for innovating and improving (digital) business outcomes using (big) data, (predictive) analytics and AI.
19:25 Diederik Greveling - Building a near real-time data lake at Mollie
At Mollie, we are working on migrating to the cloud. Part of this project focusses on making data available within the organization. For this Mollie is creating a near real-time data lake within GCP, based on a set of MySQL clusters. In this talk, we walk you through the steps to achieve this in both a batch and a streaming fashion. We will discuss the problems that we encountered, the tools that we used and the overall migration process.
Diederik Greveling is a Machine Learning Engineer at GoDataDriven, currently working on an assignment at Mollie.
20:15 Sebastian Vermaas and Maarten van Strien - Automated Data Ingestion in the Cloud for a leading American multinational sports company
At our customer we have been developing an Automated Data Ingestion in the Cloud. This tool enables teams to ingest their data from any source system into the Cloud Data Platform (AWS). The data lands in the raw layer, gets cleaned when moving to the cleansed layer and, gets combined when moving the curated layer. Provenance data is being added to be able to track lineage and a rule engine is used to apply any kind of cleansing, transformation, curation or business rule needed. This all is achieved by creating one config and running Automated Data Ingestion once.
By using this tool, development time in teams has been reduced from months to weeks, accelerating the cloud migration process enormously. Next to this the tool connects with the customer build Data Quality framework seamlessly, enabling a variety of Big Data quality solutions.
Maarten van Strien is a Data Engineer and Sebastian Vermaas a Data Scientist, both working at Cognizant and currently working on an assignment for a leading American multinational sports apparel, equipment and accessories company.
