Smart data applications to provide an optimal passenger flow at Schiphol - Berend Onnes - Manager Traffic Analysis and Forecasting at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
Schiphol is Europe’s best-connected airport and on peak-days processes up to 235.000 passengers. a reliable prognosis of the expected number of people that will be arriving at the airport is essential to optimize the passenger experience. How many passengers are expected by the minute, what will be there route through each terminal, what does their check-in process look like, and what services will they be using?
Data is the foundation for all of these applications, but it's exactly this data this is not always available. Berend Onnes will demonstrate how Schiphol combines historical data, predictions, and data from airlines in a smart way to predict passenger flow and to plan for example the necessary security capacity.

Shaping the future of traffic with IoT and AI – Peter Broekroelofs, Chief Design Officer
Dynniq is a dynamic, high-tech and innovative company offering smart mobility solutions and services internationally. In this presentation, Peter Broekroelofs, Chief Design Officer, besides presenting advanced IoT use cases Dynniq is already working on, will also be sharing how AI will be the enabler for even smarter solutions. For this, Dynniq is building-up dedicated data science capability. Broekrolofs will talk about the organizational and technical challenges they encounter in this process, and he will share the learnings Attend this presentation and learn what makes data science in the mobility domain unique.
Crowd Monitoring System Amsterdam - Eelco Thiellier, Project Manager CMSA
Eelco Thiellier of the city of Amsterdam will share several examples of how the city is becoming a smart city through the use of the CMSA (Crowd Monitoring System Amsterdam) that uses sensors which collect anonymized data about pedestrian movements at hotspots. The collection is done at big events e.g. Sail or at the Arena boulevard or in permanent situations like the red light district, the Kalverstraat, the ferry terminal and at OV-hubs. The data is used to generate insight in crowdedness in order to introduce pedestrian-friendly measures to keep the city accessible, safe and comfortable. See also www.amsterdam.nl/crowdmanagement.
