With the theme of Trust, Transparency, Togetherness: Powering Public Data for Communities, we’re excited to host this high-energy, marathon-style event with partners from the economic development, government, and community healthcare sectors.

Interested in volunteering? You’ll help build tools to direct local governments to act to solve housing insecurity, help frontline health organizations deliver equitable care, and better target humanitarian, economic, and health responses in the wake of COVID-19.

Passionate about social impact? Check out the projects we’ve worked on at previous DataDive events, supporting democratic freedoms with organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center and, virtually, helping cities solve societal challenges using AI with Teach for America and the Trust for Public Land.
No previous DataKind experience and no data science expertise are required (applicants interested in volunteering will be asked to complete an application to identify what skills they’re looking to share or learn so that we can match them to the right project). This DataDive virtual event is aligned to Open Data Week NYC, and we’re excited to showcase the value and opportunity of using open data to create positive social impact.
