Data Learnathon, DataPotluck XIII

Details

DataPotluck invites you to a weekend learnathon. We want to help aspiring data scientists from all across Chicago get started working with data. Data science is quickly rising in importance in non-profit organizations, and government agencies and corporations. Developing the skills to work with data can seem daunting but it's easier than you think to get started.

The Coalition for Open Data Education [CODE] Learnathon is a one-day event for students and professionals alike who are looking to get started working with data. This free workshop covers mapping, data cleaning, and some introductory spatial analytics using open source tools. Please bring your laptops!

The purpose of a learnathon is to help participants kickstart the development of new skills and connect them with the people and resources they need to continue to learn.

Please register at this website: http://chicagodatalab.org

RSVPs for this meetup won't transfer to the event, so please be sure to register on the website above.

Current Schedule:

• Working with the City's Open Data Portal

• Cleaning Your Data

• Easy Mapping on the web with Google Fusion Tables

• Getting started with Mapping Tools for Geospatial Analysis
