Synopsis:

Shane will detail the basics of using R/Shiny and will discuss his experience using these tools in the workplace. The presentation will include a tutorial on how to build your own web applications using R/Shiny.

Speaker Bio:

Shane Varn works at the Florida State Board of Administration (FSBA), one of the largest public retirement plans in the U.S., as Manager of Investment Analytics in their Global Equity asset class. His department oversees the investment of roughly $80 billion dollars in public equity, both actively and passively, on the behalf of State employees. Shane’s primary role is the on-going development of their internal analytics platform which he built using the open-source tools, R/Shiny.
