2nd JerusML Mini-conference on AI and the Israeli Gov – Focus on NLP and MLOps
JerusML is hosting the Israeli ICT Authority Let's Gov technical communities for an amazing journey on how government is using NLP and AI to create value and provide better services.
Join us to hear how the Bank of Israel is using ML to predict price indices, the newest developments for NLP in Hebrew, how the US Gov is using NLP to produce safety statistics, how public data is being used to combat hate speech and how the Australian Gov is structuring MLOps architectures for sensitive data.
This event will be in electronic format. Registration is required to get the zoom link.

More info on the speakers and presentations:
Yulia Nudelman is a Data scientist and BI developer, Bank of Israel. Her talk will focus on Machine Learning Pipelines for Text Classification: Extracting Structure from Unstructured Data. Yulia will talk about the Machine Learning Pipeline for text classification and how it was build and managed at the Bank of Israel. The Bank uses in-house natural language processing (NLP) tools for sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and text classification for the analysis of financial documents, news articles, and social media posts to extract entities (companies, people, and organizations), summarize insights, track market reaction to significant events, and predict price index changes.
Reut Tsarfaty is the director of the ONLP lab! at the Bar Ilan University. The lab focus on the research of Natural Language Processing (NLP) foundations, algorithms and applications and the development of morphological, syntactic and semantic models, particularly Processing Hebrew.
Alex Measure is a Data Scientist at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. He leads machine learning and natural language processing projects in the Bureau of Labor Statistic's Occupational Safety and Health Statistics program. His work focuses on automated difficult information processing tasks including text classification, information extraction, record matching, and error detection.
Oren Tsur is an Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) at the Department of Software and Information Systems Engineering at Ben Gurion University in Israel where he heads the NLP and Social Dynamics Lab (NASLAB). His work is focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP), Social Dynamics and Complex Networks. Specifically, Oren’s work varies from sentiment analysis and virality prediction to modeling speakers’ language preferences and authorship attribution. Oren serves as an editor and Senior Program Committee member in venues like ACL, EMNLP, WSDM and ICWSM and as a reviewer for journals ranging from TACL and PLOS ONE to Nature.
Oren’s work was published in top NLP and Web Science venues. His work/s on sarcasm detection was listed in the “top 50 inventions of the year” in Time Magazine’s Special technology issue.
James Beck is a Data Engineer at the Australian Taxation Office. He has worked on projects including building data science platforms and MLOps.
