I am thrilled to announce three amazing speakers for our first meetup!

(Talks will start a little after 7pm, but feel free to arrive early as we'll be having pizza and drinks!)

Talk 1: Visualising London's Happiness, Tom Duncalf ( & Rick Banks (

Tom and Rick will talk about the process of creating their data-driven visualisation submission for London Design Festival's Co–ordinates show, based on data from a GLA survey about happiness and wellbeing, created with D3. They will discuss both the creative and technical inspiration and process behind the piece.

Tom Duncalf is a London based software developer, currently specialising in Javascript and React. Rick Banks is a London based designer specialising in branding and typography and runs the design studio Face37 (

Talk 2: Visualising Invisible Systems, Marcin Ignac (

Can we think of data as a shape? A place you can visit? In this talk Marcin will explore the beauty of hidden connection in the movements of animals, your health data and the information tracked by the websites you visit every day.

Marcin Ignac is a computational designer and a data artist exploring new ways of experiencing information at Variable (

Talk 3: Data Goes with Everything, Tiziana Alocci (

This talk will take you through a data visualisation journey showing different case studies and an overview about how Tiziana started to work with data - from what triggers a piece to what leads insights.

Tiziana Alocci is a London-based information designer, who works at Shoreditch-based Beyond Words Studio ( She loves working on data-driven experiments and analysis with a keen eye on human activity and the creative process.
