Lulworth Cove World Heritage Site, Corfe Castle Village + Wareham Quay Day Trip

Details
Join us on a private coach trip to to Lulworth Cove World Heritage Site, Corfe Castle Village and Wareham Quay. We'll be travelling by luxury coach which is booked privately just for our Day Trips from London Meetup Group.
The main attractions on this trip will be Lulworth Cove and Corfe Castle Village. The beautifully formed Lulworth Cove is a World Heritage Site and among the most picturesque coastal areas in the UK. It's a fine example of the 'coastal cove' formation as can clearly be seen in the photographs below.
Corfe Castle village is also a major UK attraction. On our regular travels throughout the UK, finding destinations for our meetup group, there aren't many that surpass this historic location. Corfe is a beautiful and historic village in Dorset. It is dominated by the magnificent ruined castle, which has risen high above the majestic limestone village for over a thousand years.
We'll also be stopping off on the way in the market town of Wareham. This is also a picturesque location, ideal to break up the journey on our way to Lulworth Cove and Corfe. The Wareham Quay area (where we will be based) on the River Frome is the town's main attraction.
Included in the price:
• Privately-hired, luxury return coach travel from London to Lulworth Cove World Heritage Site, Corfe Castle Village and Wareham.
• Fully planned 'day trip with a detailed itinerary. This day trip will be hosted by two very experienced group organisers with 5 years experience of organising day trips through this Meetup.com social travel group.
• Guided microphone commentary and brief text guides of our locations provided on the coach before we arrive which we have personally researched and written.
• Both a Quiz relating to our day trip locations/experiences and Raffle on the coach with prizes.
• Pay pal fees.
We organised this same trip last year and three year's ago. We have decided to make another visit as the previous trips had a very large waiting list and and those who attended provided great feedback about the event.
Please scroll down past the beautiful photos of these three destinations below to read the full plan and detailed itinerary. Note that the majority of these photographs were taken and uploaded to our meetup group website by members on our previous trips to these locations:

An Introduction to Wareham Town and Quay (our first coach stop):
The coach will collect us at 9:00 am from Central London and our first stop will be the beautiful quayside in the historic market town of Wareham. We will arrive in Wareham at approximately 11.45 am
Wareham is an historic market town and often-used stop-off point on the way to Lulworth Cove. The famous author Thomas Hardy wrote about Wareham in one of his novels and Lawrence of Arabia lived locally.
The former ancient port of Wareham is situated on the beautiful River Frome. The town's waterways and marshes are famous for its wildlife including otters and various wading birds. The charming quayside area holds a popular Saturday market
An Introduction to Lulworth Cove (our second coach stop):
At 12:30 pm the coach will then take us to the beautiful Lulworth Cove. We will arrive in Lulworth Cove at approximately 1:00 pm
Lulworth Cove is one of the major attractions on the stunning Jurassic coast World Heritage site. The 'coastal cove' itself is commonly regarded as one of the finest examples of its kind and receives over 500,000 visitors per annum. It was formed approximately 10,000 years ago, by the combined forces of the sea and a river of melting ice at the end of the last ice age. The cove itself is completely unspoiled and continually evolving, with experts predicting it will continually increase in size.
In Lulworth Cove there is also a Heritage Centre which has free-entry and is open to the public on our visit. The Heritage Centre exhibitions tell the story of Lulworth from 150 million years ago, as the first rocks formed, to the landscape and village you see today. This centre also displays various exhibitions on smuggling and sailing. The cove itself is unspoiled. However, there are numerous places to eat and drink on the 5 minute walk down from the coach park and into the cove. We will leave Lulworth Cove at 3:00 pm and then travel to Corfe Village which is approximately 25 minutes journey.
An Introduction to Corfe Castle Village (our third coach stop):
Corfe is regarded as one of the most picturesque villages in the UK. We will arrive in Corfe Village at approximately 3:30 pm. There is evidence of the existence of a settlement in the village dating back to 6,000 BC, but it really rose in prominence when Alfred The Great built a castle here to deter possible invaders. Although the vast majority of the castle was destroyed by Cromwell's army in the 17th century, what remains still evokes a magical quality.
The village architecture Is exceptionally striking, as the houses are uniformly built using England's finest Purbeck limestone. On arrival we'll be taking everyone on a circular walk of the castle's perimeter, which provides some fine views of its exterior.
Members will also have the option of Visiting Corfe Model Village. This is an ideal option as it allows visitors to view how the castle would have looked before it became ruined. The model village displays a 1/20 scale model of the castle and village. The standard entrance fee is usually £4 but we have managed to obtain an exceptional discount at the rate of £1:50 per person for those who want to visit.
Note that while we will have some great views of Corfe Castle, we will not be visiting the interior as we will not have enough available time on this day trip. In any case, as this castle is ruined, even without entering the actual premises it is still possible to see much of the interior as we'll as the exterior (unlike some castles where entrance is an absolute must).

Please note that all attendees will receive a printed copy of the full plan/itinerary for this trip as soon as they arrive at the start of the day.
We can only offer this trip to adults aged 18 and over due to concerns over increased legal responsibilities that will otherwise be involved.
Please also note that we only permit members to RSVP for a maximum of 3 additional guests. The reason is because most members attend by themselves and can feel overwhelmed with larger groups attending. We made this decision due to the feedback from our members and is standard on many meetup groups.
Please also note that we will not be making the walk from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door. The reason is because this is a steep hiking route that would take around 45 minutes. A few people did make the walk on our previous trips, but we advise against making this trek as we feel this should only be led by specialist hiking groups.
Emergency mobile phone numbers to contact during the day trip:
Please take these two mobile phone numbers that you can ring during the day trip (please only ring if it is absolutely necessary). My number is 0757 8360117 (Martyn). My brother's number is 078466 39420 (Terry). We will also be unable to delay the coach arrival/departure time or other planned events as we have to adhere to a tight schedule.

Option of bringing Packed-Lunch to maximise sightseeing time:
As with any day trip, our time will inevitably be limited at our destinations. Many attendees will enjoy sampling the local restaurants/cafes etc. However, sitting down, ordering and enjoying a meal does take time. Therefore, some members alternatively prefer to use the time to see as many sights as possible. If this is the case, then attendees are more than welcome to bring a packed-lunch to maximise sightseeing time. Please note though that hot food and hot drinks can not be consumed on the actual coach.
Payments:
All payments are to be made online via PayPal in full if you decide to RSVP (you will be taken to the payments page after you RSVP).
Please note you do not have to have a Paypal account to pay via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, choose the option to 'pay with a debit or credit card' and complete your card details, address, email etc as directed by the screen.
Information Relating to Refunds and Selling a Space:
Payments are non-refundable unless the trip is cancelled or rescheduled. However, if you have booked on the trip and can no longer attend, we will refund your money only if the meetup is full and someone else takes your place (and pays for the place). Usually, there are many members waiting to book a space as our events often fill to capacity in such a short period of time. If you have booked and can no longer attend, please ensure you message me first (Martyn Lloyd) before changing your RSVP to 'no'. Also, please ensure you click here (https://www.meetup.com/Day-Trips-From-London/pages/Selling_your_space/) to read the following information relating to selling a space. Note that 48 hours on the day before this event the RSVP's will close and no more spaces will be re-allocated by us or refunds provided. We require this time for last minute planning.
Information relating to Buying a Space on a Trip that is Full:
Please note that the Meetup.com Social Network no longer provide a waiting list facility for paid events. Therefore, if you are planning to buy a space on a trip that is full, please click here (https://www.meetup.com/Day-Trips-From-London/pages/Buying_a_Space_when_a_Trip_is_Full/) to read the following information.
PLEASE DO NOT POST COMMENTS OFFERING TO BUY OR SELL SPACES IN THE COMMENTS BOX
(the difficulty is that member comments offering to buy or sell spaces are often not updated after they become no longer available. This leads to confusion as members still assume spaces are available to buy or sell because the offer is still posted as a comment even though it no longer applies). We do appreciate your co-operation :-)
Please note that payments made for one trip cannot be transferred to another trip.
Terms and Conditions:
By the act of attending any of our trips, individuals confirm they have read and agreed with our terms and conditions. Please 'Click Here' (https://www.meetup.com/Day-Trips-From-London/pages/Terms_and_Conditions/) to read these terms and conditions.
Scheduled arrival time back in London:
In the very unlikely event of major delays or other factors we may extend our scheduled arrival time on the day back in London by approximately 45 minutes. However, this will be very rare and at the discretion of the specific drivers as they must adhere to very strict driving hours to conform to safety issues. This will generally only happen when there has been major delays and is just a policy to ensure attendees receive the best experience possible and the maximum amount of time at our destinations given very unlikely circumstances. Please also note, in these very rare instances, our coach drop off point will be very near South Kensington Tube Station (West-Central London) and not back at Tothill Street.
Mailing list:
Please can all attendees ensure they are subscribed to the mailing list for this meetup group so we can keep members updated about this event (for example we always try to inform members if there are last minute tube station closures on the TFL network so members can make alternative plans to arrive at our coach meeting point). Attendees should be automatically subscribed to the mailing list unless you have changed the settings. Members can check whether they are subscribed to the mailing list by clicking on their photograph at the very top right hand side of this page. Then they should click on 'Profile'>'Settings'>'Email Updates'>'Updates about my group'.
Please can members also ensure they read the comments section below for updates from the organisers.
Finally:
If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact us. We'll be more than happy to answer any queries. You can contact us at any time via private message (click on organiser photographs for the 'send message' option) or by mobile phone after 6pm (0757 8360117)
kind regards
Martyn and Terry
