Decatur Makers Summer Camps 2026
Crystal is leading six small-group maker camps this summer for kids ages 6–14 — hands-on, creative, and capped small so every kid actually gets to build things.
Camp lineup

• LEGO Explore: Robotics — ages 6–10 (2 weeks)
• LEGO Robotics Challenges — ages 11–14 (2 weeks)
• MakerLab: America 250 — ages 6–14 (1 week)
• Camp SnackLab — ages 8–14 (1 week, daily rate available)

All camps run 10am–2pm, $250/week, June and July at Decatur Makers.
Space is limited — several weeks are already filling, and one is full. Register by May 25 to hold your spot. Full schedule and registration at decaturmakers.org

The Arduino/Raspberry Pi User Group meets monthly on the first Monday at 7 PM at Decatur Makers. Open to all skill levels, this community is for anyone interested in building, programming, or learning about “tiny computers” — from Arduino and Raspberry Pi to ESP32s and other microcontrollers.

Projects can range from home automation and robotics to sensors, art installations, games, AI experiments, and creative problem-solving. Whether you’re brand new or deep into electronics and coding, you’ll find people excited to share ideas, troubleshoot projects, and learn together.
Meetings often include project demos, presentations, and discussions on topics like power systems, wireless communication, automation, coding techniques, and emerging technologies.
Come connect with fellow makers and see what’s possible in the world of tiny computers!

New! Evening Jewelry Meetup — second Tuesday of each month
Come meet other jewelry makers, show off your creations, work on a project, swap tips, or just hang out for a couple of hours. All are welcome — you don't need to be a Decatur Makers member to join, just 16 or older.
We'll have a small collection of beads and findings on hand if you'd like to make a pair of earrings while you're here.

We host Open Build Nights on Wednesdays from 7-9 PM, except the first Wednesday of the month (reserved for members-only meetings). During this time, our space is free and open to the public, so come take a tour!
Open Build Night is a great time to bring questions about Decatur Makers, tour our makerspace, and meet others who have the same passion.
If you would like to work on a project, please let us know some details beforehand by registering for the event. Certain tools and pieces of equipment are restricted for use and require the assistance of a trained volunteer. We endeavor to have volunteers available, but it is not always possible to work on or complete all projects.
This is for makers of all ages, skill sets, and interests.
