DIYbio 101: Raising Bugs

Want to use the lab but don't know where to start? Don't worry, we have you covered! We're rolling out a new series of 101s aimed at equipping you with all the skills you need to conduct your own experiments.

This month you'll learn the basics of raising bugs. No, not the ones that you find flying around outside-- we're talking about the microscopic kind! This class will give you a basis to start culturing your own microorganisms, from how to select an appropriate media to how to perform aesthetic technique all while staying safe.

In addition to the content mentioned above, you'll receive training on the incubator and autoclave.

Ages: 16 years old - adult

Max number of students in the class: 6
