We're wanting to do this once a month on the third Saturday, typically from 5-7 PM. Space is limited, so please only RSVP if you're confident you can make it. We will announce topics and speakers as they are confirmed.

Presenter:
Tony Trummer

Application Security Engineering

Since several group members have expressed interest in a variety of topics around "how do I get started in...", we'll take this opportunity to walk through the fundamentals in Application Security.

For the less experience members, we'll cover some of the fundamentals of AppSec and for the more experienced members, we'll provide an opportunity you to mentor and share your experiences.

We will walk through some of the fundamental flaws in modern applications, the mitigations, how to detect them, and how to assess, document and communicate the risks they present to stakeholders.

Topics covered will include:
Web - XSS, CSRF, SSRF, SQL injection, command injection, etc
Native - memory corruption bugs (buffer overflows, use after free, etc).

See you there!

We'll follow up with socializing and attendees can either stick around for Crash Space's movie night (Details - https://blog.crashspace.org/) or meetup for drinks at a nearby spot (TBD). Please consider donating something via their website's Paypal, as they are donating the space for this event, free of charge!

Free street parking on Venice or Keystone. Venice parking is one hour only, until 6, so if you time it right, it's free.
