DIY Homebuyers: What are pluses & minuses of Redfin's new direct offer option?
Details
#RebateUp weekend: MeetUp's template isn't as flexible as we are, so text preferred time & place to talk for 15+ minutes, see "How to find us" below:
Redfin rocked the real estate industry this week by announcing a stealth project we spotted a month ago. They're using Boston as a test market for a new direct offer option for their listings that supposedly gives DIY homebuyers a financial advantage -- forego working with any buyer agent, including a Redfin agent, so your offer nets the seller more profit.
We'd like to invite homebuyers who are actively looking for homes, particularly those using Redfin's website, to participate in a round table discussion about what they perceive as the pluses and minuses of Redfin's approach. The photo above is linked to the question we posed on Twitter and cross-posted on our Instagram account:
#DIY Homebuyers: Submitting offer directly on @Redfin listing? Why deny yourself 100% #rebate of #BuyerAgency fee hidden in sales price?
Please share this MeetUp with anyone you think would like to participate in an open discussion any time during #RebateUp weekend. If MeetUp's template allows us, we'll update locations, Friday through Sunday. We're open to inviting Redfin representatives to join us and will convey that directly to their CEO via Twitter.
