What we're about

We are a group for health care professionals (psychologists, counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, primary care doctors, nurses) interested in building community with others who use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and for those who want to learn more about, practice and get training in ACT. ACT is a humanistic, mindfulness based, empirically supported, behavioral and cognitive therapy. The best way to learn how to practice ACT is to apply it to ourselves. We see ourselves (therapists) as human beings "in the same soup" as our clients and therefore, learning to use ACT with fidelity to the model can be a dramatically life enhancing process. We'd like to "meet up" with others who'd be interested in discussing ACT books, presenting cases, practicing exercises, developing referral networks, doing presentations for the general public, etc.
