Python programming for hardware components

We're organising a very basic project on IoT this time. The underlying subject, as usual, is Python conglomerated with some cool hardware components.
The idea is to have all the participants working on the project together, thereby, evaluating if that interests them and if they'd be willing to come up with some new ideas and projects on the same subject in futre
