What we're about
This group should probably be joined only by people who are serious about spirituality or philosophy and perhaps people who already know at least something about one of the subjects. If you are such a person you will probably find this group rewarding and nourishing--something you have been looking for, for some time, without finding it. This group over time will read and contemplate together the texts of some comparatively recent figures in this ancient tradition--Ramesh S. Balsekar and Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj (and even more contemporary figures than those two) as well as Sri Aurobindo, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna -- and, ultimately, all the texts in the lineage--going all the way back to Shankara and the Upanishads.
Those who join should be willing to: 1) commit to attending on a fairly regular basis, and 2) read about 30 pages a week in books that can be challenging. Meetings are expected to take place on an every-other-week basis, at a location near the intersection of I-25 with Colorado Blvd. Note: suggested donation of $5 per meeting to Brooks Center for Spirituality (Brooks is classified by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3), so all your donations are tax deductible. For more information about Brooks, which observed its centennial year in Denver in 1998, see www.brookscenterforspirituality.org
